You find yourself here because you followed a link about donating to By-Tor.com. Within this page, I hope to explain to you what this is, and what this isn't. A while back, I mentioned that I was unemployed on the message boards, and some of the regular posters wanted to send me money. Even though I told them that this site was in no financial danger, they still wanted to give. Well, I'm still unemployed, and the site still isn't in any financial danger, but I have left the Pay Pal link up just in case you cannot sleep at night without giving someone else money ;) What do I get for donating? Absolutely nothing with the possible exception of a 'thank you' email from me. Do I have to donate to access any area of this site? Nope. This site is 100% free, and will remain that way as long as I am running it. There are 'restricted' areas of this site, but those restrictions are lifted when you have an account (which is free). How much does it cost to operate By-Tor.com? Not including electricity for the computers, and any miscellaneous hardware costs I might run into, the annual operating cost is about $620. This is the cost of the cable internet connection which the web server is connected too, and the domain name registration fee. Will you dislike me, and call me names if I don't donate? I don't like anybody, and if you're already a member, contributing in the forums, chances are, I already call you names. I want to donate, but is it safe? Pay Pal uses 128bit encryption. That's the same as your online bank. How much should I donate? Totally up to you. Anything over $50,000, and I'll send you a postcard from the Bahamas's. :) Okay, I am going to donate. How?
