Just out of curiosity, which is your favourite instrumental by Rush.

I've got to say La Villa Strangiato - its one of the most awesome pieces of vituoso playing I've heard.

I have to say for me it is 2112 Finale. It sends shivers up and down my spine.

I like YYZ, to me it's the most powerful and punchy of them.
I remember watching in amazement as Geddy sang, played bass, and played the keyboards with his feet. I thought, "Who is this guy???"

Especially early live versions from 1976-1979. Ged puts so much effort (or should I say effort"less" talent) into it. It sounds brilliant.

I chose Leave That Thing Alone.... Al's guitar melodies are phenomenal and absolutely eerie.

Has to be La Villa without a shadow of a doubt, closely followed by yyz.

i don't really think of the 2112 offerings as instrumenyals in their own right as they are part of the themed song (They are VERY good though)

The others are simply forgettable though.....
Ach, if Dougie was here he'd tell you himself....

So many good ones, but YYZ is not only Rush's best but the best instrumental of all time.
