Not to torpedo the thread, but...

What's with these young girls in school having contests to see who can get
pregnant first?

What's up with that?

And, more importantly, who really wins?

What are they thinking? Do they have no common sense?

GAH! :x

To me, the bottom line is that there are only two people to blame for it...

Mom and Pop, or a lack of.

Well in my part of the world school is like this.

Pre school is prior to age 5

Kindergarten is age 5, or 6 depending on when the childs birthday falls.

1st grade is age 6, or 7
2nd grade is age 7, or 8
3rd grade is age 8, or 9
4th grade is age 9, or 10
5th grade is age 10, or 11
6th grade is age 11, or 12

All these grades (K thru 6th) are what we call Grade School.

7th grade is age 12, or 13. The beginning of what we call Junior High School.
8th grade is age 13, or 14

9th grade is age 14, or 15. The beginning of High School. (also known as freshmen year)
10th grade is age 15, or 16..... also known as sophomore year.
11th grade is age 16, or 17..... also known as junior year.
12th grade is age 17, or 18..... also known as senior year.

Now as to the age thing, if the childs birthday falls prior to school starting, they go right into K because that is the starting age. For kids who have a birthday in say, december,.... they have to wait till they turn 6 because they were not 5 at the beginning of the school year.

And that is, well............that. :-D

we call kindergarten nursery and they can be there when they're 3, 4 or 5
then they go to primary school at the age 4 or 5...they stay at primary school till primary 7
then at the age of 11 or 12 they go to high school until 6th year till they are 17 and some are 18 but only for a couple of months at the most
they can leave school after 4th year as long as their 16
