His surgery was bumped b/c of an emergency- he should be in the suite around 11am EDT

Thank you Schuey!!!! That was the crux of my rant. He's ready, he's beyond doped up, and falling alseep and they are putting him in a HOLDING PATTERN?
Bullshit I say.

Dad is in recovery- sound asleep.
They removed all the pressure and the blood from around his brain- everything went very well.

Dad is up, watching TV, getting some pain meds, trying to eat (methinks the anesthesia may have taken his appetite for a bit) and harrassing the SICU nursing staff. In general he seems a lot better- I saw him last night and he made a few wise cracks about his situation ("No dad, they did not put a spigot in the side of your head to release the fluid.")
His CAT scan yesterday came back clean- the neurosurgeon removed all of the fluid and blood- his relief drain is removing a little blood- but nothing abnormal.

Update:
Dad was sitting up and eating his dinner today- all of the CAT scans that have been taken have come back clean- he needs to have one more CAT scan done Saturday evening and if it's clear they will move him to a rehab hospital Sunday so he can completely recuperate.

Dad was moved out of ICU into the main hospital. The doctor spoke to my mother yesterday to let her know that he has to make sure dad has most of his mobility back and is off of the IV pain meds- the next step is probably short term rehab before coming home.
