Fictionist
Last Thursday night I went to see my nephews play. They were warming up for a more "significant" band called Fictionist who, though based in this valley where I love, seldom play here. They play all over the western states. Last year they were in a competition in Austin, TX. Out of 700 bands competing they made it into the top 6 finalists.
I had never seen them before. Holy cow, they were a delight. Their sound has been haunting me ever since. Something along the lines of classic Pink Floyd but not exactly. I really need to get ahold of their CD. They have a couple of videos on YouTube... playing live in a studio. Excellent audio. If anyone wants to check them out, both videos are posted on their website.

Fictionist is part of a contest in Rollingstone Magazine. in fact, out of all the bands in the country they are now one of four finalists. The winner will be the first unsigned band to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone. They will also get a contract with Atlantic Records. And appear on the Jimmy Fallon Show.
Please go to Rolling Stone's website and vote them five stars.

Here's an example of why they deserve to win.

I guess since Atlantic is still manufacturing and selling Rush CD's, they continue to list them on their site. I would if I were them.YYZ30 wrote:That's weird - Atlantic still has them listed as an artist on their site.3 travelers wrote:The boys are currently on Roadrunner.
I stand corrected.
