A pregnant woman from Fort Wayne's northeast side was arrested early Saturday, accused of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Indiana State Police said Molly E. Gram, 21, of Knightway Drive, is eight months pregnant and was stopped because she was driving without headlights or taillights about 4 a.m. in the 5800 block of North Holly Avenue, just north of New Haven Avenue.

Gram was transported to the New Haven Police Department where she refused an alcohol test for intoxication, state police said.

She was charged with felony operating while intoxicated, operating while intoxicated endangering another person, operating while intoxicated refusal and violation of court-ordered interlock ignition device. Gram was being held in the Allen County Jail. No bond information was immediately available.

State police said this was Gram's third charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated within a year, two of them felony charges.

Kosciusko coroner, son face DWI case

The elected Kosciusko County coroner will likely face no disciplinary action after his arrest Sunday on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Coroner John Sadler was arrested Sunday when he arrived intoxicated at the scene of his son?s drunken-driving arrest, according to Whitley County police.

A misdemeanor arrest is not grounds for penalty for a coroner under state law, said Lisa Barker, an executive administrative assistant for the Indiana State Coroners Training Board.

?The only penalties would be the criminal penalties,? said Randall Girod, chairman of the Kosciusko County Republican party, adding that there would be no discipline taken by the party against Sadler for the misdemeanor arrest.

Sadler, 48, and his son were arrested, one after the other, Sunday on accusations they both drove while intoxicated, according to Indiana State Police.

A state trooper stopped Sadler?s son about 8 p.m. Sunday, accused of speeding on Whitley County Road 400 West. He was driving 73 mph in a 60-mph zone, police said.

After police determined the son was intoxicated ? his blood-alcohol level was 0.17 percent, twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent ? they contacted Sadler to pick up his son?s vehicle.

When the elder Sadler arrived, he too was intoxicated, police said. He was arrested after his blood-alcohol level tested at 0.10 percent, police said.

Father and son were each booked into the Whitley County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The elder Sadler faces an additional preliminary charge of possession of a switchblade knife. Both father and son posted bond, $9,500 each, and both were released Monday morning.

Sadler, who has been coroner for more than 10 years, faces up to two years in jail if convicted on both charges. Messages left for him were not returned Monday.

Man, 114, caught with 6
tons of pot
Adebayo said he had been a farmer all
his life
Updated: Monday, 06 Apr 2009, 8:13 AM EDT

By MIKE BRODY, Special Contributor
NIGERIA - Narcotics agents in Nigeria reportedly confiscated 6.5 tons of marijuana from a man who claimed to be 114 years old, according to Reuters .

Sulaiman Adebayo said he had been a farmer all his life and told police he thought the sacks of marijuana contained rice.

"The quantity of drugs suggests a large scale involvement. ... There is more to the case than Pa Sulaiman," National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Chairman Ahmadu Giade said.

Adebayo claimed to have attended the dedication of a famous hall in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun, Nigeria, in 1895 as a small boy. There was no independent confirmation of his age.

Last month, a woman living in Kazakhstan claimed to be 130 years old .

In April, police in Copley Township, Ohio, were called to a restaurant where Erik Salmons, 39, was allegedly intoxicated and annoying customers. Officers declined to arrest him but did insist that he call someone for a ride home, and Salmons complied. However, at home, Salmons decided that he was insulted at being thought of as intoxicated and so drove himself to the police station and demanded a breathalyzer test, which of course he failed, and he was arrested.
