NFL Helemts - the good, bad and ugly

Post by Middle Kingdom »

Well, actually the great, good and bad.

Great:

Redskins
Steelers
Bengals
Vikings
Packers
Lions

Good:

Pats
Jets
Phins
Texans
Jags
Colts
Raiders
Chiefs
Cowboys
Seahawks
Rams
Cardinals
Bears
Bucs
Panthers
Falcons
Saints
Browns
Giants

Bad:

Titans - just plain dumb
Bills - the red style from the SB years their best
Chargers - the blue with a yellow bolt a la 1981
Broncos - nothing beats the blue with the D
Ravens - good cymbal, black blah
Eagles - hate the logo
49ers - SB years were best

49ers- the logo hasn't changed, and I wouldn't have expected it to- I dont mind it.
Broncos- the safety orange unis turn me off, the helmet was ok.
Bills- the whole uni needs an overhaul- they look like an arena team.
Titans- to quote Dave Campbell "Eeeeech"

Redskins- need a new design- the Spurrier spear would work for me.
Fins- expect a compete overhaul for next year, I have it on good word Reebok is working up a new uni and helmet.

The Colts, Bears, Lions, and Packers helmets (and unis) are the best imho.

The spear is nothing new. Redskins had 'em in the late 60's/early 70's
under George Allen...

...waaaay before Spurrier. Spurrier only brought it back.

I liked the old one of the Colt buckin'....but the horseshoe rocks too.

It's withstood the test of time....Like Pitt's one-sided logo.

I'm ok with most teams uni's. Here is what I don't like.

Denver helmet, Cleveland helmet and uni, Buffalo helmet, Miami helmet, Houston helmet.

What I really like is how Tampa Bay, Atlanta, and Cinci changed. Kudos there.

Oh yeah........................Seattle, get rid of the safty glow green hats. I wouldn't wipe my butt with that hat.

True, but didn't NE also go to the silver in the jerseys then too?

The logo change came in 1993, and we had blue and white for jerseys. The throwbacks came into being when we played the Lions on Thanksgiving and the silver jersey did not become official until 3 years ago...

God AWFUL name.

Why someone would name their team after a cheesy Edgar Allan Poe
vignette is beyond comprehension...so what if he was from there...

They didn't even HAVE football when he lived!

But alas...

Baltimore's still stuck with the name, and they still suck just the same;

Quote the Raven...nevermore. LMAO

Those Oilers uniforms and helmets were great!
Especially the light blue pants.
