do I detect that Xanny is a bit of an aviation buff?? I knew I liked you for some reason.. :-D

The KC 135 (jet) is actually faster at cruise, but the p51 would be quicker from a dead stop. Jets need a little more time to spool up and produce thrust than a prop does..

The KC 135 (Boeing 707) is a beautiful plane in her own right. so is the Mustang...
Happy 2015!

Yep, used to fly before it got too expensive. I love the P-51, Corsair and P-38...those are my faves! ME 262 is a cool jet, would be fun to play with one. And as far as larger planes I've always loved the B-17 :-D They're just cool.

I am now in love..

my personal faves would be the F4F, F6F and the F 14. I am partial to Grumman and the Navy, but I love anything that flys..

We have a B-17 and some MiG's on display here.

I like the B-17 too. It's like a midget B-29!

I remember seeing P-38 "Boxcars" flying out of Andrews when I was
a kid. They always fascinated me.

Now, it's the F-22 Raptor that makes me drool. Incredible warbird.
Unstoppable. It will totally dominate anything that challenges it.

Even the new MiG's. No chance. Game over.

my fave WWII plane is a toss-up between the P-51 Mustang and the
German Stuka. Stukas were just MEAN lookin', but the P-51's kicked
their asses. :P

LOL, yeah they did! P-51 could out climb the other prop planes and then come down on them and kick their ass!!! The ME 109 could turn on a dime though.
