Yes, I saw a clip from the BBC confirming that someone bid 63,000 pounds in a charity auction. Obviously shellin' out that kind of cash also got them backstage as well.ElfDude wrote:Big Blue Owl wrote:I just heard on an NPR radio program that one guy paid $154,000.00 for two Zep tickets for tonight (or tomorrow?) in London.

"The show just ended at the 02 Arena, and there were some
surprises: alongside the hoary classics (?Stairway to Heaven,?
?Kashmir?) there was a strong selection of deeper cuts
(?Trampled Under Foot,? ?Nobody?s Fault But Mine?) and one live
debut (Presence?s ?For Your Life?).
Tomorrow, we?ll have David Fricke?s complete report from the
Ahmet Ertegun Benefit, but until then, here?s the full set list:
?Good Times, Bad Times?
?Ramble On?
?Black Dog?
?In My Time of Dying?
?For Your Life?
?Trampled Under Foot?
?Nobody?s Fault But Mine?
?No Quarter?
?Since I?ve Been Lovin? You?
?Dazed and Confused?
?Stairway To Heaven?
?The Song Remains the Same?
?Misty Mountain Hop?
?Kashmir?
Encore:
?Whole Lotta Love?
?Rock and Roll?

Plant wanted to do it, but the organizers initially only gave them
a 1-hour set.
Plant convinced them it would take at least 1-1/2 hours, so they
had to do some number-crunching(no pun intended) to get the
max LZ show experience in 90 minutes or less.
Don't start none...won't be none.
Read several reports (oh the irony here) Jason was so nervous before the gig he puked...CygnusX1 wrote:All reports indicate that Jason was spot-on for the set.
He spent numerous occasions reminding THE REST OF THE BAND
of percussion arrangements (as recorded by Bonzo) in rehearsals.
Is that amazing or WHAT?
Jason did his homework. He gets MAD respect for that.
Dude, he has HUMONGOUS shoes to fill. I'd have hurled too.YYZ30 wrote:Read several reports (oh the irony here) Jason was so nervous before the gig he puked...CygnusX1 wrote:All reports indicate that Jason was spot-on for the set.

He mentioned the sensation of playing a Zep set in front of thousands
would put him in a not-so-comfortable place. It's all behind him now....
HOPEFULLY!

Zep tore the roof off of the O2 arena, if they pace themselves right, and not go crazy, do you see the $$ they could make on a once off tour?CygnusX1 wrote:Dude, he has HUMONGOUS shoes to fill.
