This might sound naive but....one would think with the advent of the computer, peace would be at hand. We can talk in nearly real time across the globe and it baffels me that the people in power don't use this tool for dialog. There are translation sites for laugage so why not? If people could just leave religion aside. I have to assume that the people in power really don't want peace and we are nothing more than a live chess game and man is inherently evil.
The world is a mess when we can't admit when we are wrong or live only for the dollar. I have and need more than you so I have more power to push you around. It is so much easier to be kind and caring when we strip our egos off.
It is very sad indeed.

When evil is allowed to compete with good, evil has an emotional populist appeal that wins out unless good men & women stand as a vanguard against abuse.

Obviously some of them don't. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for example. He, and the leadership behind him, are engaged in trying to goad us and Israel into war. He wants to bring about the coming of the 12th Imam. That can only happen with the advent of the Islamic version of Armageddon. War is what he wants. It's not what the popultion of Iran wants, but it's what their people in power want.Me wrote: I have to assume that the people in power really don't want peace
Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?
I agree with Kev that man is basically evil. It is sad, but we see it lived out daily.
And I also agree that wars come about often because one has and another wants. Not because the other can't work to gain it always either, and "it" may be something intangible, like control over the whole world.

Onward and Upward!
