I've been interested in working with programming languages to generate music for awhile now. I've taken a look at csound, Supercollider, Max and the like. They're great tools, but they have a fair amount of learning curve (from steep to very steep in my opinion). In addition, with these tools, I get a large kit that has vastly more than I need to do what I want. In particular, I don't really need any signal processing -- that's what I use Studio for. I'm very comfortable with FLS and I'm not all that great and creating my own patches (which is part and parcel of things like csound, Supercollider, etc.).
So, I'm thinking about streaming midi to Studio, probably via python. The main reason that I'm leaning toward python is Christopher Ariza's awesome athenaCL library.Has anybody does anything along these lines with FL Studio? Do you have any advice for me? Would you be interested in sharing results, experiences, etc.?
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
