My son gets 1st varsity TD tonight!
He is a backup fullback and linebacker, (but starts in both
positions for junior varsity) so he gets in sparingly, and on special
teams.
But tonight with the team up 21-0 in the 2nd qtr,
the coach put him in, and after a 5 yard gain on 2nd down, he
punched it in from 3 yards out for his first career TD.
He got two more carries, and had a nice 17 yard run,
to end up with 4 carries and 33 yards.
The coach rotated others in the position after that,
as the rout was on.
It ended up a 43-6 win.
6-0 so far, 1st in the conference.
No playoff games, just the
conference winner goes to Super Bowl
versus the conference winner from the same division
in Western Massachusetts.
So I'm a proud dad tonight!

yeah, and hopefully his stock just went WAAAAY up, as well as playing time.....it's all good.Middle Kingdom wrote:Thanks, man.
The team has a bruising running back,
but the game was getting out of hand score wise,
so the back ups got decent playing time.
So they do get some good ole smash mouth football
going, and my son isn't afraid to take on anyone,
so they try to get him in there when they can.
Don't start none...won't be none.

I was in the press box, spotting the numbers for the PA announcer guy, and I was right next to the two students filming the game for the school.
When the football team watched the film in practice yesterday, my son said you could hear me yell "he's in!!!! " (the endzone for the touchdown)
and his mom, sitting right below the press box (the window was open for a better view) whooping it up too,
on the tape.
He laughed, but of course nobody knew it was his mom & dad yelling.
They thought it was just the fans.

Well my son's team finished their conference play
at a perfect 9-0 and won the division 3A title.
Which means they play in the Division 3A Super Bowl
against the division 3A champion from Western MA.
We still have the Thanksgiving game at 10 am, but the team we
play is not in our division. They are in division 2.
We beat them last year on Thanksgiving Eve (we don't have our own field, 4 city schools share the field, and thus every other year you play on Thangsgiving day.)
So they are 10-0 overall, and will try to go to
11-0 before playing for the state Super Bowl championship
in December.
We are all excited, and the kids actually get championship rings if they win the title!
Too bad Bob Kraft isn't designing those babies.
Wish them luck!
